The PYBA was established in 2005 when two long-upstanding Peterborough basketball clubs - Saints and Storm - agreed to amalgamate into one association for the betterment of youth basketball.

Our club runs house league and rep programs for youth between the ages of 9 through 18. We are part of the beautiful Kawartha region - Central Ontario, Canada.

Thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers who make it possible for youth in Peterborough to learn and play the great game of basketball!

2014 PYBA Houseleague Season is now officially underway!!

We are now officially into our houseleague season as the grade 10-12 boys played their first games over the weekend. All of the placement sessions were also completed and the coaches have selected teams and will be contacting all players and parents to advise them of their Tuesday or Wednesday night practice session. Games will also start this weekend so be sure you know your team name to ensure you show up at the same time.

We are having our best year ever with over 380 kids registered into our program. With this many players comes an increased number of teams so it is very important that you show up to practices and more importantly games 15 minutes early to be sure that the games all start on time. In order to fit all the games in we have to ensure that they all start on time.

Finally if you cannot make a practice or game please have the courtesy to contact your coach and advise him that you will not be there. Coaches are expecting that you will show up for all games and practices but if that is not possible due to sickness, vacation, dreaded HOMEWORK or whatever please take the time to call and advise him or her of your situation. Also game schedules are posted on the HOUSELEAGUE page in pdf form and you can download and print them off for reference. These will also be updated every week so be sure to review it often for any schedule time or location changes. We try to notify everyone ahead of time but if you are not part of our Facebook group or signed up for our email group you may not receive this information.

We are looking forward to having another FANTASTIC year and we will see you on the courts!!!!

We are now officially half way through our 2014 summer Hoop Dream program!! In our 4th year we are very excited to have expanded the program from 2 divisions to 5 divisions. This year we have over 100 kids registered in the program with boys and girls able to play on their own courts. The program runs every Wednesday night from 5:30 - 9:30 pm at the outdoor basketball courts behind the Peterborough Public Library. The program provides an opportunity for all those registered to improve their basketball skills and also have a fun scrimmage followed by refreshing popsicles to reward them for their great efforts! Recently CHEX TV attended one of these sessions and created a short news clip that was aired locally. You can find a link to this video below. This program would not be as successful and enjoyable without the efforts of Robyn Bax and the many parent, community and student volunteers who help out every single week. Thanks to all our great volunteers!!!
